SaaS demo requests
B2B SAAS

Turning website traffic into more demo requests.

A B2B SaaS company selling HR software had healthy organic traffic, but too few visitors took the next step. The messaging was generic, different types of customers landed on the same pages and the demo form asked for more than most people wanted to give. Over six months we sharpened the messaging, built use-case pages and simplified the route to a demo.

THE RESULTS

+47%

demo requests from organic

+31%

conversion rate on key use-case pages

+26%

organic visits to commercial pages

–34%

drop-off on the demo form

The challenge.

Traffic grew. Demos didn't.

Steady SEO growth, strong rankings and a busy blog, but not enough of it turned into commercial opportunities.

The wrong kind of visitor.

A lot of content attracted people reading about HR topics in general, like employee engagement, rather than companies comparing HR software.

One message for everyone.

An HR manager at a 50-person company saw the same message as a people team looking after thousands of employees.

A demo form that pushed back.

Nine fields before talking to sales, right at the moment someone was ready to act.

How we approached it.

The company didn’t need more traffic. It needed more of the right traffic, and a better journey for the visitors already showing intent.

Clarify the message

The copy listed features but didn’t always say what they helped customers achieve. We rebuilt the story around a few common problems: onboarding new hires, tracking time off, running performance reviews, keeping employee data in one place and cutting repetitive HR admin.

A page per use case

Instead of one generic page for everyone, we created pages for the situations where the software helps most, such as onboarding, absence management, performance reviews and HR reporting. Each one tackles one problem and works for both SEO and paid campaigns.

Content closer to buying

We kept the educational content, but moved part of the plan towards searches from people choosing software: comparisons, alternatives and “HR software for growing teams”. Smaller volumes, much stronger intent.

What we focused on.

Once visitors with real buying intent arrived, the job was simple: make the next step as easy as possible.

Demo page

Clearer copy about what you'll see and discuss, instead of just "Book a demo".

Shorter form

From nine fields to four. Company size, phone number and current software could wait until later.

Internal links

Articles now lead naturally to use-case and product pages, instead of ending without a next step.

Buying-intent content

Comparison, alternatives and selection content that reaches companies actively looking for software.

The outcome.

Demos

+47% from organic

Without a big jump in traffic. The growth came from improving what happened after people arrived.

Focus

Not every visitor treated the same

People researching general HR topics still find useful content. Software buyers now get a clear route to the product and a demo.

Sales

A website that supports sales

Less about generating traffic, more about helping the right visitors start a conversation.

More use cases.

Different industries, same idea. The right marketing, not more marketing.

More relevant traffic. Fewer barriers.
