Where it started: A walk to the metro

Lum Collective began on a walk to the metro station.

Charlotte and Helen met at a networking event in the city. The event itself was not particularly memorable. What mattered happened afterwards. On the walk to the metro they started talking about marketing, business and life in the city. One conversation turned into many.

We talked about the different rhythms of life in Europe and Latin America, and the frustrations of an industry that often prioritizes clicks over clarity.

A friendship formed naturally. Then, a couple years later, over a casual dinner, the idea for Lum appeared. There was no formal pitch deck or dramatic proposal. It simply felt obvious. We realized that our strengths did not compete; they clicked.

Charlotte moved from Amsterdam searching for a different rhythm of life, more sunshine, and a place where building something meaningful felt possible. She brings technical expertise in SEO, digital growth, and website architecture.

Helen arrived from El Salvador to pursue her master’s degree and discovered a city that felt vibrant and full of opportunity. She contributes strong experience in sales, lifecycle marketing, and project leadership.

The problem we are solving

Before starting Lum, we both saw the same pattern: Marketing silos.

A company might invest in SEO, social media, and paid ads, but those channels rarely talk to each other. It is noise without a melody. We saw agencies that were happy to just “execute” whatever the client asked for, even if it was not what the client actually needed.

We do things differently:

Charlotte focuses on the big picture and the untapped potential of a brand. “I love showing clients what could exist for them,” she says. Helen then turns that vision into a measurable reality. She believes that “marketing is often misunderstood as just advertising,” and explains that “in reality, it is strategy, planning, setting KPIs, and making ideas actually work.” Together, they ensure that every ambitious idea is supported by a solid plan for success.
